HUONE is proud to welcome another superstar to join the journey of HUONE: Ian Wu joined the HUONE Singapore team as Chief Executive Officer in late August 2019. For Ian, a good leader means being fair to all, and more importantly, being able to bring the best out of people—your people.
Ian’s background in event organising and management makes him a great addition to the team, and he is super excited to be a part of the growth story of HUONE and ensuring the excellence of HUONE’s customer experience.

He describes himself as someone who’s always looking for a challenge and a solution. Before his position at HUONE, Ian served as a Director (Healthcare – Tech) within SingEx Exhibitions where the overall growth of his portfolios was a key part of his scope. During the time, Ian managed and launched events such as RadiologyAsia, CaREhab, AnEW, the Tyrexpo series (Asia, India, and Africa), the GarageXpo series (Asia, India, and Africa), and the World Rubber Summit. During his time there he also served as the Coordinating Head of Sales for the Events Business, and was responsible for launching the award-winning Internet of Things Asia Exhibition and Conference as well.
Prior to his career in the exhibitions and conference industry, he served 13 years with the Singapore Armed Forces, of note he undertook the role of Organising Secretary of the 2010 National Day Heartland Celebrations, amongst other training and doctrine development positions; From the experience, he had learned to always try to substantiate his actions and decisions with data and a line of objective reasoning. Ian has a First Class Honours Degree in Business Administration, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
He continues HUONE’s tradition, being a big brother himself (many in HUONE are big brothers and sisters!) to two siblings, a sister and a brother, and had shared that he had a happy childhood even though the family struggled to make ends meet at times. Ian is passionate and focused; In fact, he wishes to have a superpower to be able able to switch off and relax at any point that he wants!
